Welcome to the Berkley Junior Women’s Club

The Berkley Junior Women’s Club was founded in 1985 as an non-profit organization encouraging community service to the city of Berkley. Our purpose is “to develop and foster projects of civic betterment, promote leadership training and cooperative action among its members.”

We are a group of women just like you – generous, caring, talented – who share our skills for the common goal for enhancing the quality of life in the city of Berkley.

We meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. Membership is open to any woman over the age of 21. For more information, see our membership page.

Some of our community service projects:

  • Host the Fire Prevention Open House in October
  • Host the Tree Lighting Ceremony in December
  • Buy and maintain the flowers around the Gazebo at City Hall
  • Decorate the city with cornstalks downtown in the fall
  • Give a scholarship to a Berkley High School senior
  • Adopt a Berkley Family at Christmas
  • And much more!

Our focus is community service to the City of Berkley – but along the way we have so much fun!! We have social events for the members and their families throughout the year, such as:

  • Family Fun Days
  • Girls Escape Getaways
  • Family Campouts
  • Holiday Parties
  • Pot Luck Dinners

We only hold two major fund raisers: in August we work the merchandise booth at the Woodward Dream Cruise the week before the Cruise and in December we host the Candy Cane Lane Craft Show where we also have a bake sale and hold raffle drawings.
